Medical transcription, also known as MT, is an allied health profession, which deals in the process of transcription, or converting voice-recorded reports as dictated by physicians or other healthcare professionals into text format.
You don’t require any special skills to start off in this profession. However, you need to undergo Medical Transcription training to learn the basic Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Body, medical terminology, pharmacology (drug names along with doses and dosages), etc. During MT training, certain skills such as the comprehension of different English Accents along with good listening skills, computer skills, etc are honed.
